Lesen, Schreiben, Rechnen und digitale Grundkompetenzen gelten als zentrale Voraussetzungen gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe. Dennoch verfügen viele Erwachsene nur über geringe Kompetenzen in diesen Bereichen. Die Förderung von Grundbildung und Alphabetisierung gehört daher zu den wichtigen Aufgaben der Erwachsenenbildung.
Das Blockseminar führt in zentrale Forschungsbefunde, theoretische Perspektiven und Handlungsfelder der Grundbildungs- und Alphabetisierungsarbeit ein. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe, Bildungsbenachteiligung und sozialer Ungleichheit ebenso wie Konzepte, Programme und Einrichtungen der Erwachsenenbildung.
Neben klassischen Themen der Alphabetisierung werden aktuelle Entwicklungen aufgegriffen, etwa digitale Grundbildung, arbeitsweltbezogene Grundbildung sowie Fragen der Teilhabe in einer zunehmend digitalisierten Gesellschaft. Das Seminar verbindet wissenschaftliche Perspektiven mit Einblicken in aktuelle Praxisfelder der Erwachsenenbildung.
