In der Vorlesung wird ein einführender Überblick über theoretische Perspektiven auf Erziehung und Bildung gegeben. Die Vorlesung setzt zwei Schwerpunkte: Erstens werden philosophische, normative und programmatische Annäherungen an Bildung und Erziehung seit der Aufklärung vorgestellt. Zweitens werden aktuelle Debatten um Bildung und Erziehung umrissen, etwa mit Blick auf Geschlechtertheorien und post-koloniale Theorien. Dabei werden stetig Bezüge zu anderen Disziplinen herausgearbeit und das spezifische "Erziehungswissenschafliche" herausgearbeitet.
