Die Gladiatoren-Spiele wurden v.a. in den nach-christlichen Jahrhunderten groß inszeniert und gut besucht. Wir wollen uns diesem Phänomen von verschiedenen Seiten nähern: mit antiken Texten (Seneca, Tertullian, Cassius Dio, Martial u.a.), mit antiken Abbildungen (Mosaike, Wandmalereien) sowie mit moderner Filmrezeption.
