Dieses Seminar widmet sich der europäischen Kolonialgeschichte im langen 19. Jahrhundert (das bis zum 1. Weltkrieg datiert wird) und soll einen Überblick über die komplexen Verflechtungen und ambivalenten Verhältnisse zwischen Europa und den kolonial beanspruchten Regionen im globalen Süden geben. Die kolonialen Beziehungen werden aus intersektionalen Perspektiven betrachtet, die Machtverhältnisse, sowie Ein- und Ausschlussmechanismen unter Berücksichtigung der Kategorien Geschlecht, Ethnizität und Klasse analysieren.
Wir nähern uns dem Thema über Forschungsliteratur sowie ausgesuchte Quellen, die wir gemeinsam analysieren.Achtung: Dieses Seminar beginnt erst im Juni 2026 und findet deshalb an dann jede Woche 4-stündig statt, sodass insgesamt dieselbe Anzahl an Stunden erreicht wird wie in einem durchgängigen 2-stündigen Seminar.
