Im Seminar werden die Studierenden gemeinsam mit ihrer virtuellen Kommilitonin Emma das notwendige Wissen erwerben, um selbständig empirische Haus- oder Qualifikationsarbeiten durchführen zu können. Ausgehend von der Fragen, ob eine Haus- oder Qualifikationsarbeit eher daten- oder theorienorientiert gestaltet sein soll, lernen die Studierenden, wo sie Daten für eigene Analysen finden können, wie diese Daten computerbasiert ausgewertet werden, welche Arten von Visualisierungen sinnvoll sind und wie die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse dargestellt und diskutiert werden.
