Das Wort ‚Höflichkeit‘ lässt auch heute noch einen Bezug zum ‚Hof‘ und zum ‚Höfischen‘ erkennen und damit zum Zivilisationsprogramm für den europäischen Adel des Mittelalters. Ein zentrales mittelhochdeutsches (Lehr-)Werk, das ‚schönes Benehmen‘ in den Rahmen einer höfischen Bildungskonzeption stellt, ist der ‚Wälsche Gast‘. Mit seinen Texten und Bildern setzt sich das Seminar an ausgewählten Beispielen auseinander.
