Kinderoper ist mittlerweile als eigenständige Kunstform etabliert. Daneben existieren unterschiedliche Ansätze, um Opern, die eigentlich für ein erwachsenes Publikum geschrieben wurden, auch Kindern zugänglich zu machen. In diesem Seminar wird anhand Engelbert Humperdincks Oper ‚Hänsel und Gretel‘ exemplarisch diskutiert, welche Vermittlungsansätze geeignet sind, um ein anspruchsvolles Musiktheater für Kinder aufzubereiten. Dabei entwickeln die Studierenden Ideen für partizipative Vermittlungsansätze, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Carus-Verlag anschließend erprobt und veröffentlicht werden sollen.
