Anhand exemplarischer Positionen der religionspädagogischen Diskussion in Geschichte und Gegenwart führt die Vorlesung in das Gebiet der Religionspädagogik ein. Dies soll unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Antworten auf die Frage, was jeweils mit "Religion" und mit "Pädagogik" gemeint ist, die in der religionsdidaktischen Konzeption zugrunde liegt. In Auseinandersetzung mit zentralen Beiträgen zur religionspädagogischen Diskussion kann und soll sich der eigene Ansatz bilden und bewähren: Wer Religionsunterricht erteilt, sollte dazu in der Lage sein, sich selber und anderen Rechenschaft darüber zu geben, welche religionsdidaktische Konzeption der Praxis zugrunde gelegt werden soll.
