360005 Buddhismus und Islam in Deutschland (S) (WiSe 2014/2015)

Neben dem Christentum und dem Judentum sind vor allem der Buddhismus und der Islam den Deutschen zumindest dem Namen nach bekannt. Anders als Christentum und Judentum sind sie aber nicht seit 1000 und mehr Jahren, sondern höchstens seit ca. 250 Jahren in Deutschland vorhanden, wobei vor allem in der Zeit seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg eine Zunahme an Buddhisten und Muslimen zu verzeichnen ist. Der Hauptunterschied in der Präsenz der beiden Religionen in Deutschland besteht darin, dass der Buddhismus sehr stark von alteingesessenen Deutschen getragen wird, während buddhistische Einwanderern zwar auch zugegen sind, aber in der Öffentlichkeit kaum auffallen, wogegen der Islam in Deutschland vor allem von Einwanderern und ihren Nachkommen praktiziert und in die Öffentlichkeit getragen wird und zum Islam konvertierte alteingesessene Deutsche kaum auffallen. In diesem Seminar werden Geschichte und Organisationsformen der beiden Religionen in Deutschland behandelt.
