Seit der „Erfindung“ der Sexualität in der Evolutionsgeschichte, mutierten die Lebewesen in zuvor nicht gekanntem Ausmaß. Die geschlechtliche Fortpflanzung begründete die uns heute bekannte Vielfalt des Lebens auf der Erde. Auch die menschlichen Kulturen verdanken „dem kleinen Unterschied“ eine große Vielfalt und Spannung von Identitäten und Interaktionen. Umso merkwürdiger ist es, dass dieser Vielfalt so selten Rechnung getragen wird. Sowohl in den Religionen als auch in den Wissenschaften wurde das Menschsein lange auf das Mannsein und das Feminine auf ein Dasein als Anhängsel reduziert, während noch weitere geschlechtliche Identitäten schlichtweg gar nicht wahrgenommen wurden. Genderforschung ist aber mitnichten nur feministische Frauenforschung. In diesem Seminar untersuchen wir, welchen Einfluss die geschlechtliche Vielfalt, aber auch deren Ausblendung auf die Religionen hat und wie Menschen in den Religionen damit umgehen und werfen auch einen gender-kritischen Blick auf die Wissenschaften.
