220048 Europäische Einwanderung in den Amerikas 1850 bis 1960 (S+Ü) (WiSe 2013/2014)

In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts kam es in verschiedenen europäischen Ländern zu starken Auswanderungsbewegungen nach Nord- und Südamerika, die bis zum Ausbruch der 1. Weltkriegs andauerten. In den 1920er und 1930er Jahren sowie nach dem 2. Weltkrieg gab es neue Auswanderungswellen in die Amerikas. Im Seminar sollen besonders am Beispiel der deutschen, spanischen und italienischen Auswanderung nach Argentinien, Brasilien, Chile und in die USA die Hintergründe dieser Auswanderungen analysiert werden. Auch die spezielle Lebenssituation der Auswanderer in den Aufnahmeländern soll eingehend untersucht und diskutiert werden.
