Diese Veranstaltung bietet Studierenden der Linguistik eine Einführung in die Prinzipien und Vorgehensweisen empirisch arbeitender Sprachwissenschaft. Anhand von ausgewählten Fallbeispielen und Übungsaufgaben werden linguistische Datenerhebungs- und -analysetechniken in zwei Themenschwerpunkten behandelt.
Der Themenschwerpunkt „Grundlagen empirischer Linguistik“ befasst sich u.a. mit
• systematischer Beobachtung als empirischem Grundprinzip
• Objektivität, Reliabilität und Validität empirischer Daten
• gebräuchlichen Verfahren der Datenerhebung
• Operationalisierungsproblemen und dem Skalenniveau von DatenDer Themenschwerpunkt „Grundlagen quantitativer Datenanalyse“ befasst sich u.a. mit
• Möglichkeiten der Darstellung numerischer Daten
• statistischen Kennwerten (Mittelwerte und Streuungswerte)
• Maßen für den Zusammenhang von Messwertreihen
• Logik und Grenzen statistischer Hypothesenprüfung (Signifikanztest)Das Seminar findet in Präsenz statt.
