Die Literatur der europäischen Romantik verfolgt die Überschreitung generischer und disziplinärer Grenzen. Inhaltlich wendet sie sich verstärkt dem Geheimnisvollen, Nachtseitigen, Okkulten zu. Die Figur der Transgression ist hierbei nicht nur eine formale Kategorie, sondern schlägt sich in literarischen Erzählungen der Romantik inhaltlich nieder, indem die Texte eine klare Trennung zwischen subjektiver und objektiver Realität aufheben: Hieraus erwachsen spannende und rätselhafte Geschichten, die den Wahn ihrer Figuren oftmals ungebrochen zur Darstellung bringen und Trugbilder zum Leben erwecken. Eine Auswahl dieser Texte soll im Seminar erzähltheoretisch und vergleichend analysiert werden. Die Erzählungen von E.T.A. Hoffmann, Ludwig Tieck, Théophile Gautier, Prosper Mérimée, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer u.a. werden im Stud.IP zur Verfügung gestellt.

Die Aktive Teilnahme / Studienleistung wird mit der Abgabe einer Lektüreliste erbracht, in der Sie drei Titel aus der Sekundärliteratur, die Sie recherchiert, gelesen und bearbeitet haben, auflisten und in eigenen Worten kurz thesenartig zusammenfassen (1-2 Seiten).
Sämtliche Prüfungsformen sind nach Absprache möglich.
