Wie sieht die lokale religiöse Landschaft in Bielefeld aus? Welche Kirchen, welche religiöse Gruppen und welche religiöse Aktivisten können gefunden werden? Was kann über die religiöse Pluralität gesagt werden? Bei welchen Gruppen und Organisationen wird die religiöse Unterweisung außerhalb der Schule erteilt (z.B. Katechese und die Koranschulen?)?
In den ersten Sitzungen des Seminars werden die theoretischen Fragen nach der lokalen religiösen Landschaft als einem Teil der global funktionierenden Welt erörtert. Anschließend folgt der praktische Teil in dem die religiöse Vielfalt in Bielefeld und Umgebung durch Besuche zu erkunden ist und die Information über verschiedene Gruppen und Kirche in Gesprächen mit den Aktivisten zu erhalten sind. Das Ziel des Seminars ist es den theoretischen und vor allem den praktischen Umgang mit lokaler Religionsgeschichte zu ermöglichen und die Kompetenz in Umgang mit gelebter religiöser Pluralität zu entwickeln.
