Hannah Arendts philosophisches Hauptwerk „Vita activa“ ist ein moderner Klassiker der politischen Philosophie, der Sozialphilosophie und der philosophischen Anthropologie. Im Zentrum steht Arendts Unterscheidung der menschlichen Tätigkeiten Arbeiten, Herstellen und Handeln – mitsamt ihrem emphatischen Begriff des Politischen als Freiheitsraum, der Unterscheidung zwischen Privatheit und Öffentlichkeit, der Bedeutung der Pluralität, ihrer Kritik an der Arbeitsgesellschaft und zahlreichen weiteren inspirierenden Gedanken.

Im Seminar werden wir das Werk in seiner deutschen Fassung gemeinsam diskutieren. Da wir auf eine einheitliche Textgrundlage angewiesen sind, schaffen Sie sich bitte die aktuelle Taschenbuchausgabe von Oktober 2020 im Piper-Verlag an (14 €) – bitte keine älteren Auflagen, da die Seiten dort nicht identisch sind!

Eventuell werden wir gegen Ende des Seminars noch weitere, kleinere politische Texte von Arendt lesen.
