Das Seminar versteht sich als Übung zu herausragenden Gedichten bzw. Gedichtzyklen der deutschen Literaturgeschichte seit der Klassik. Es beginnt mit Gedichten Hölderlins und Goethes und endet mit einem Gedichtzyklus Durs Grünbeins. Die Gedichte stehen, wie sich zeigen wird, in einem inneren Zusammenhang: thematisch und auch problemgeschichtlich.
Teilnahmebedingung ist die Bereitschaft zur Mitarbeit in einer Arbeitsgruppe; es werden 10 Arbeitsgruppen gebildet. Die Texte werden zu Beginn des Semesters in einem Reader zur Verfügung gestellt (über die Dokumentenablage zum Seminar).
