Organisationen – ob nun Unternehmen, Parteien oder Universitäten – stehen heute unter medialer Dauerbeobachtung. In der massenmedial vermittelten Öffentlichkeit sehen sie sich mit unterschiedlichen, z.T. konfligierenden Anforderungen und Erwartungen oder aber kritischen Meldungen konfrontiert. Viele Organisationen verfügen deshalb über Spezialisten (PR-Abteilungen), die die relevanten Berichterstattungen in den Medien verfolgen und bei Bedarf für die eigene Organisation in anschlussfähige Mitteilungen übersetzen. Zusätzlich übernehmen sie die Aufgabe, mittels entsprechender Informationspolitik ihre Organisation in den (Massen-)Medien möglichst gut aussehen zu lassen. In dem Seminar werden zu diesem Verhältnis zwischen der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit von Organisationen und den Massenmedien ausgewählte Texte untersucht und diskutiert.
