Aufmerksamkeit ist kein unitäres Konstrukt, sondern bezieht sich auf Prozesse, die es Gehirnen erlauben, relevante Information für Wahrnehmung, Gedächtnis, und Handlungssteuerung priorisiert zu verarbeiten. In dem Seminar soll im ersten Teil ein Überblick zur aktuellen Forschung aus Perspektive der Kognitiven Neurowissenschaft gegeben werden. Im Teil zwei werden klinische Störungsbilder aus dem Themenfeld Aufmerksamkeit behandelt - z.B. Neglect, Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-/Hyperaktivitätsstörung (ADHS). In beiden Teilen sollen aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten (englisch) in Form von Kurzvorträgen vorgestellt und diskutiert werden sowie zugehörige Fragen (Lernraum plus) beantwortet werden.

Das Seminar richtet sich an Studierende des Msc Studiums Psychologie, d.h. MSc Psychologie (alt), MSc Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Experimentelle Psychologie und Neurowissenschaft sowie, wenn Plätze (Limit 30) frei sollten, an Studierende des MSc Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie.
Das Seminar setzt Kenntnisse in Kognitiver Neurowissenschaft (z.B. Allgemeine Psychologie, Biologische Psychologie) voraus, wie sie in einem BSc Studium der Psychologie vermittelt wurden.
