Immer noch sind Frauen im Kirchengeschichtsunterricht der Schulen unterrepräsentiert. Zu diesem Urteil lässt sich leicht kommen, wenn man gegenwärtige Religionsbücher analysiert. Spannend ist es zu untersuchen, auf welche Weise Frauen in der Kirchengeschichtsschreibung vorkommen und dargestellt werden und gleichzeitig zu fragen, ob ‚Frauen anders Lernen‘ (Hanna Leewe)? Kommen sie zu anderen Schlussfolgerungen in der Auseinandersetzung mit historischen Ereignissen und Erfahrungen? Verfolgen Sie eine andere Didaktik? Im Seminar soll es darum gehen, Frauen der Kirchengeschichte für die Gegenwart zugänglich zu machen. Gleichzeitig möchte es den Rahmen schaffen, sich mit spezifischen Modellen weiblichen Lebens zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten auseinander zu setzen und nach Frauen der Kirchengeschichte zu suchen, die auch heute weibliches Leben, Lernen und Lehren inspirieren können.
