"Ökonomen erzählen Geschichten und schreiben Gedichte." (Deidre McCloskey): Wenn Wirtschaftswissenschaftler den Markt erklären, dann sprechen sie über Robinson und Freitag. Wenn Manager sich vor "feindlichen Übernahmen" schützen, dann suchen sie "den weißen Ritter" und erzählen Märchen. Ökonomie, angeblich eine "harte" Sozialwissenschaft, erweist sich bei näherem Zusehen als eine Spielform der Literaturwissenschaft. Ökonomie ist Fiktion, Belletristik, Metaphernbildung, nicht (nur) Spiegelung der sozialen Welt, sondern Konstruktion dieser Wirklichkeit. Dabei geht es freilich ernst zu: Wer die beste Geschichte erzählt, macht am Ende das meiste Geld.
Das Blockseminar an drei Montagen (5. November, 26. November, 21. Januar) soll Umrisse einer 'Literaturtheorie der Ökonomie' erarbeiten – mit vielen Beispielen aus der Welt der Unternehmer, der Unternehmen und der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Modelle. Vor Beginn des Seminars wird ein Reader mit verpflichtenden Texten verteilt.
