250267 Kulturwissenschaftliche Perspektiven auf Kinder und Kindheit (S) (SoSe 2022)

Das Seminar findet digital, live zur genannten Zeit und zum Teil im Selbststudium (online synchron/asynchron) statt.

In diesem Seminar werden wir uns mit den theoretischen Grundlagen der anglo-amerikanischen Kulturwissenschaft befassen, um anwendungsbezogen verschiedenste Formen der kulturellen Repräsentation von Kindern und Kindheit zu analysieren. Wir werden untersuchen, wie ‘das Kind’ und ‘die Kindheit’ in (populär-)kulturellen Medien wie Literatur und Film, Werbung und politischer Rede, Journalismus und Wissenschaft repräsentiert wird, das heißt: durch Sprache mit Bedeutung gefüllt und sozial konstruiert wird.

Im letzten Durchgang dieses Seminars (SoSe21) haben wir uns z.B. mit Repräsentation von Kindern und Jugendlichen im Diskurs um die Fridays For Future-Bewegung auseinandergesetzt, aber auch mit der damals aktuellen Debatte um Kinderwahlrecht. In diesem Jahr möchte ich unter anderem einen Schwerpunkt darauf legen, wie Kindheit in der Covid-Pandemie öffentlich diskursiv verhandelt wird (z.B. Kinder als Träger von Risiko, Schulausfall als Krise der volkswirtschaftlichen Zukunft, usw.). Wie immer bin ich offen für die Interessen der Teilnehmer:innen und lasse Seminarblöcke unverplant, um Themenvorschläge aufnehmen zu können.

Wir werden alle zentralen Texte in dieser Veranstaltung auf Englisch lesen.
