Processes of globalization have become central issues of contention. The seminar explores different dimensions of the contentious politics of globalization. Following an overview of the new conflict lines emerging in the context of globalization, the seminar focusses on global civil society and transnational activism against neoliberal globalization. We will explore mobilizations across different continents, ideological orientations and issue areas, examining both dynamics of coalition building and divisions.
