Die Veranstaltung "Einführung in die Politikwissenschaft" bietet einen Überblick zu den zentralen Fragestellungen und Grundbegriffen der Politikwissenschaft sowie ihrer Teildisziplinen (Politische Theorie, Internationale Beziehungen, Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft, Europäische Integrationsforschung und Regierungslehre am Beispiel des politischen Systems Deutschland). Diese werden vorgestellt und exemplarisch vertieft.
Die Vorlesung wird von entsprechenden Übungen (ab der 2. Semesterwoche) begleitet. Deren Ziel ist es, den Studierenden zusätzlich einen aktiven und praxisnahen Zugang zu politikwissenschaftlichen Problemen zu eröffnen. Die Studierenden lernen in den Übungen, aufgrund eines Problemszenarios in Kleingruppen politikwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen zu identifizieren, zu bearbeiten und zu lösen (problem-based learning). Die Arbeitsgruppen präsentieren ihre Resultate in Form von Referaten und Arbeitsberichten.
