In diesem Seminar sollen erworbene methodische Kenntnisse auf kriminologische Fragestellungen angewendet werden. Hierfür werden verschiedene Theorien abweichenden Verhaltens besprochen und empirisch überprüft. Teilnehmer*innen sollen unter Anleitung eigene empirische Analysen zu ausgewählten Themen vornehmen.
Hierbei können inhaltliche Schwerpunkte selbst ausgesucht und umgesetzt werden.
Ziel des Seminars ist es, die Abläufe eines wissenschaftlichen Forschungsprozesses von der Auswahl einer Fragestellung, der theoretische Hintergrund und Forschungsstand, die Auswahl von Variablen und einer geeigneten Auswertungsmethode bis hin zur Interpretation und Einordnung der Ergebnisse.
Die durchgeführten einzelnen Schritte können als Grundlage für die schriftliche Ausarbeitung im Rahmen einer Hausarbeit genutzt werden.Nach derzeitigem Kenntnisstand findet das Seminar zumindest hauptsächlich online über Zoom zu den vorgesehenen Zeiten statt.

Stata Grundkenntnisse.
Ich setze die in Statistik I und II erworbenen Kenntnisse voraus. Studienortwechsler*innen ohne fundierte Methodenkenntnisse empfehle ich zur Auffrischung die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung "Einführung in die quantitativen Methoden".
