220088 Utopien und Dystopien (1800-2000) (S) (WiSe 2020/2021)

Im Zentrum des Seminars steht die gemeinsame Diskussion (Zoom-Meetings) ausgewählter (teils sehr bekannter, teils weniger bekannter) Utopien und Dystopien des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts (u.a. Bellamy, Zamjatin, Orwell, Callenbach). Diese sollen im jeweiligen historischen, insbesondere politischen Kontext als Interventionen in Zeit- und Streitfragen interpretiert werden. Zugleich werden die intertextuellen Zusammenhänge innerhalb dieser besonderen Literaturgattung besprochen - auch mit Rückblicken auf deren bis Thomas Morus zurückreichende Tradition. Von den Teilnehmer*innen wird vor allem die Bereitschaft zu eigener, auch umfangreicherer Lektüre (auch englischer Texte) erwartet. Das Seminar bildet mit der Hist. Kontextualisierung 220089 "Zeiterfahrung und Zukunftsvorstellungen" ein Modul.
