Die jüngsten Ansätze der Millenium Development Goals (2000-2015) und insbesondere die Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (2015-2030) streben einen umfassenden Wandel in den Ländern des Südens und des Nordens an und unterscheiden sich in verschiedener Hinsicht von Konzepten und Strategien der Entwicklungspolitik des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Das Seminar gibt zunächst einen Überblick über die verschiedenen theoretischen und konzeptionellen Ansätze in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Im weiteren Verlauf des Seminars stehen die Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung: Was ist von den Zielen zu halten? Wie werden die Ziele umgesetzt, und welche vorläufige Bilanz kann gezogen werden? Dazu werden einzelne Länder bzw. Ziele, je nach Interesse der Studierenden, im Seminar genauer betrachtet.
