Die Akteur-Netzwerk-Theorie (ANT) hat sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten den Status eines zentralen Ansatzes in der internationalen sozialwissenschaftlichen Theoriediskussion erarbeitet. Ausgehend von wissenschaftssoziologischen Studien in den 1980er Jahren, haben die Protagonst*innen der ANT an einem allgemeinen Theorieprojekt gearbeitet, das sich in vielerlei Hinsichten von konkurrierenden Ansätzen markant unterscheidet, sie es durch die Ablehnung der klassischen Trennung von Kultur und Natur, den Einbezug von Materialität und Objekten in die Analyse oder die Umdeutung des Mikro/Makro-Problems. Das Seminar führt anhand ausgewählter Texte (insbesondere von Bruno Latour, dem Gründungsvater der ANT) in die grundlegenden Denkmodelle und zentralen Begriffe ein und bietet darüber hinaus auch Raum für deren kritische Diskussion.
