Im Seminar werden wir uns mit Personen des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts, welche die Erziehungswissenschaft in besonderem Maße geprägt haben und deren Theorien auseinandersetzen. Eine vertiefende Bearbeitung eines Klassikers soll in Gruppen vorbreitet und im Seminar präsentiert werden.
Neben einer historischen Betrachtung werden wir die Relevanz für die Gegenwart und Zukunft diskutieren. Ein weiteres Ziel des Seminars ist kritisch zu prüfen, wie Werke und Personen zu Klassikern (gemacht) werden.
