Wer gilt als „Ausländer/in“ in den deutschen Gesellschaften im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert, wann, warum und mit welchen Folgen? Wie werden Fremdsein und Nicht/Zugehörigkeit definiert, kulturell, konfessionell, sozial, rechtlich oder politisch? Das Seminar wird sich mit diesen Fragen beschäftigen, aber auch mit theoretischen Überlegungen zum Thema von Zugehörigkeit und Ausschluss. Die Diskussion stützt sich auf Sekundärliteratur und ausgewählte Quellen.
