220094 Quellenlektüre ‚Deutschsein’ in der Moderne (K) (WiSe 2018/2019)

- ‚Deutschsein‘: Was soll das sein? Und warum taucht der Topos in der jüngsten Vergangenheit wieder verstärkt als politisches Schlagwort auf, häufig dann, wenn eine sog. ‚deutsche Leitkultur‘ beschworen wird? Die Veranstaltung historisiert die Problematik und analysiert die Geschichte des Konstruktes ‚Deutschsein‘, welches in der Zeit um 1800 auftauchte. Wir diskutieren, wie historische Akteure seitdem mithilfe dieses Begriffs unterschiedliche Vorstellungen von kollektiver Identität etablieren und Prozesse von Zugehörigkeit und Ausschluss organisieren wollten. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Analyse von Quellen vom 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. Zu den Themenfeldern gehören Konflikte um Zugehörigkeit in Deutschland selbst wie in Prozessen von Migration, Kolonisierung und Globalisierung.
