Beim Umgang mit religionspsychologischer Literatur und Forschung stößt man ständig auf fehlendes Grundwissen (das auch selten vermittelt wird) über die Konzepte über Religion, die von Psychologen stillschweigend vorausgesetzt oder auch wortreich entfaltet werden. Es wurde und wird viel nachgedacht und geforscht über Bekehrung, über das Beten, über religiöse Bewältigungsmuster, über gesund- oder krankmachende religiöse Praxis. Was - so wollen wir fragen - denken die Psychologen über Gott, welche Gottesbilder stecken dahinter? Ausgehend von "klassischen" Psychologen arbeiten wir uns mit dieser Fragestellung bis in die Gegenwart vor.
