Understanding the interplay between eye movements and cognitive processes: What do eye movements tell us about underlying mental processes?
"The course aims to provide the students with an overview of application of eye movements in cognitive science. Particular importance will be given to the linking hypothesis (interpreting the eye movements as a measure of the cognitive effort, Just & Carpenter, 1980) and to its critical evaluation in relation to a number of different cognitive processes including vision, language, attention and mental representation. The course will also cover the methodological aspect of eye movement experiments, including data handling, data analysis and their interpretation. One part of the course will be specifically designed to the practical application of those notions. The students attending this course are expected to actively participate in the discussion and will be asked to question, with a critical state of mind, the topics covered during the course. The class will be held in English, as well as the oral examination and the eventual presentations students will have to give. The final evaluation of the student will be a combination of the following parameters: participation and critical thinking shown during class, presentation/experiment, oral examination”

Requirements for participation, required level

Nur BA-Studiende des 1-Fach BA Sportwissenschaft Profil "Psychologie und Bewegung" werden für die "Individuelle Ergänzung" zugelasssen.
Voraussetzung für Teilnahme von BA-Studierenden ist der erfolgreiche Anschluss der folgenden Veranstaltungen und Module des BA-Studiengangs:
Vorlesung Empirische Forschungsmethoden I;
Modul Diagnostik und Evaluation (61-P-DuE);
Modul Sportpschologie (61-P-SpP),
Modul Kognitive Psychologie und Bewegungssteuerung (61-P-KPuB)
