This seminar focuses at global dimensions of social policy making with a particular focus on the activities and advice by international organisations dealing with, and influencing, national social policy. This includes the World Bank, ILO, WHO, OECD, and others. After an introduction into concepts and approaches to social policy, and the links between globalisation and social policy, we look at different social policy fields and global prescriptions on social policy. We also discuss global dimensions of social policies redistribution, regulation and rights.
