220019 Die Kunst der Peripherie: Barbizon, die Normandie und die Ränder des Impressionismus (S) (SoSe 2018)

Das Seminar schlägt vor, von den Rändern her auf die Malerei des Impressionismus zu blicken. Gewöhnlich steht die französische Metropole Paris im Zentrum der Forschung zum Impressionismus, doch lohnt es sich die Perspektive zu weiten. Beim Blick auf die 'Provinz' treten vor allem 'Vorläufer' des Impressionismus hervor: die sog. Schule von Barbizon (C. Corot, Th. Rousseau, Ch.-Fr. Daubigny, N. V. Diaz de la Pena u.a.) sowie Vor- und Frühformen impressionistischer Malerei, wie sie z. B. Eugène Boudin in der Normandie entwickelt hat. - Möglicherweise kann das Seminar genutzt werden, um erste Schritte zu einem Ausstellungsprojekt vorzubereiten.
