Die achtziger Jahre, das ist Rebellion, Anarchie, Punk, New Wave, Friedensbewegung, Hausbesetzerszene und Subkultur. Die „Jungen Wilden“ praktizieren eine ungestüme, neo-expressive, figurative Malerei, die weniger in einem übergreifenden Sinne einen „Stil“ darstellt, als dass sie eine künstlerische Haltung bezeichnet. Um die für dieses Jahrzehnt so prägende Kombination von Grenzüberschreitung, Provokation und Ironie zu verstehen, reicht es nicht aus, den Blick ausschließlich auf die Malerei zu richten. Am Beispiel von West-Berlin soll ein vielschichtiges Bild von der künstlerischen Produktion dieser Jahre nachgezeichnet werden, in dem auch Fotografie, Film, Video und ortsbezogene Arbeiten mit einbezogen werden. (Mit Exkursion nach Berlin)
