230519 Die Beat Generation: Literarische Neo-Avantgarde (S) (WiSe 2020/2021)

Die Literaten der Beat Generation gelten als Vordenker der Counterculture der 1960er Jahre. Es gibt zahlreiche Vertreter der Beat Generation, aber die Beatniks Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac und William S. Burroughs stellen die Trias dieser Neo-Avantgarde dar.

Im Seminar werden mit Kerouacs 'On the road', Ginsbergs 'Howl' und Burroughs' 'Naked Lunch' vor allem die Hauptwerke der Neo-Avantgarde behandelt. Es soll betrachtet werden, wie in den literarischen Werken der Beatniks Leben und Kunst zusammengeführt werden.

Requirements for participation, required level

Keine Vorkenntnisse notwendig, aber gute Englischkenntnisse werden vorausgesetzt. Die Texte werden im Original gelesen.
