Die Pfingstbewegung ist im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert weltweit zu einer der dynamischsten Bewegungen im Christentum geworden. Sie entstand gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in den USA und hat mittlerweile in Gestalt charismatischer Gemeinden auch in Deutschland besondere Bedeutung erlangt. Ihre Theologie unterscheidet sich sehr deutlich vom herkömmlichen Angebot der evangelischen Landeskirchen und der katholischen Kirche.
Dieses Seminar ist das erste von zwei Seminaren in Folgen, in denen unterschiedliche Aspekte der Pfingstbewegung untersucht werden sollen. In diesem Semester geht es um kirchengeschichtliche und systematisch-theologische Aspekte; im nächsten Semester (WS 06/07) geht es um die weltweite Pfingstbewegung in religionssoziologischer Perspektive.
