Nachrichten sind heutzutage rund um die Uhr auf zahlreichen Kanälen empfangbar und versorgen uns mit Wissen über die Welt. Doch Nachrichten sind nicht nur unser ‚Tor zur Welt‘, sondern immer auch schon Gegenstand kritischer Betrachtung. Auch aktuell wachsen Zweifel vieler Menschen an Qualität und Wahrheit der Nachrichtenberichterstattung. Vor diesem Hintergrund soll in dem Seminar der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie im Rahmen verschiedener( Journalismus-)Theorien die Nachrichtenproduktion und –selektion in den Blick genommen und untersucht wird. Konkret wird es dabei um systemtheoretische, akteurstheoretische und praxistheoretische Ansätze gehen.
