Das Seminar bietet eine Einführung in die Prophetie in der Geschichte Israels. Eingangs wird die Vorgeschichte der Schriftprophetie im Kontext der Religionsgeschichte des alten Orients und Israel behandelt. Anschließend steht das Phänomen der Prophezeiung als solcher im Mittelpunkt. Die Themen Berufung, Offenbarung, sowie Formen und Inhalte der mündlichen Verkündigung sollen erarbeitet werden. Anschließend wenden wir uns der prophetischen Literatur des Alten Testaments zu. Zunächst werden Vorgänge der Überlieferung der prophetischen Verkündigungen und der Entstehung der Prophetenbücher thematisiert. Als Beispiele dienen die Prophetenbücher Amos und Jeremia. Im letzten Teil des Semesters werden einige ausgewählte zentrale Themen prophetischer Verkündigung analysiert. Die TeilnehmerInnen können sie besonders interessierende Themen vorschlagen
