This interdisciplinary seminar explores the psychological, social, and structural processes of belonging, rejection, and othering in contemporary societies. Over three thematic modules (Belonging, Rejection, and Othering), students will engage critically with seminal theories, empirical research, and real-world examples to understand how individuals and groups negotiate inclusion and exclusion. Through readings, discussions, media analysis, and a choice of final assignments, participants will develop the conceptual vocabulary and methodological skills needed to study, and ultimately shape more inclusive communities.

In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
