Digitale Medien ermöglichen und postulieren die komplette Ausleuchtung privatester Lebensbereiche, insbesondere von Leuten, die das Licht der Öffentlichkeit suchen. "Im Verbund mit den klassischen Medien entsteht auf diese Weise eine grell überbelichtete Welt, in der kaum noch etwas verborgen bleibt. Die Medienmacht, die in der analogen Welt noch ein klar identifizierbares Zentrum besaß, ist plötzlich überall. Sie wandert von der Person und der einzelnen Institution in die Situation. Sie steckt im Smartphone und in der Digitalkamera, sie offenbart sich in millionenfach geklickten Videos, wird im plötzlich aufschäumenden Aufmerksamkeitsexzess erfahrbar. [...] Manchmal reicht auch ein 20-Sekunden-Filmchen, ein erster minimaler Impulst, der zündet und plötzlich zum großen Drama explodiert" (Pörksen 2021, 100f.). Trotz solcher und ähnlicher Diagnosen, trotz des Wissens um Shitstorms, Trollangriffe, Fake-News usw. reizt es Menschen die mediale Öffentlichkeit aufzusuchen und ins Rampenlicht zu treten. Welche Gründe haben sie dafür? Wir begeben uns auf die Spurensuche nach Bielefelder*innen, die sich auf Bühnen, vor Kameras, Mikros und in Netzen tummeln und versuchen ihre Motive zu ergründen und wenn möglich zu illustrieren.
