220076 Zeithistorische Verflechtungen in den Amerikas (S) (WiSe 2015/2016)

Seit geraumer Zeit gewinnen unter den Stichworten Verflechtungsgeschichte, transnationale Geschichte und Globalgeschichte multiperspektivische Ansätze an Bedeutung in den Geschichtswissenschaften. Diese sollen methodisch-konzeptionell komparatistische und transferorientierte Herangehensweisen weiterentwickeln oder sie teilweise ablösen.

Nach einer historiographisch-theoretischen Einführung setzt sich das Seminar zum Ziel, Prozesse gegenseitiger Verflechtungen in den Amerikas in den Blick zu nehmen. Ausgehend von Kokain als soziales, politisches und ökonomisches Phänomen des 20. Jahrhunderts werden Interaktionen und Interdependenzen zwischen Nord-, Süd- und Mittelamerika untersucht. Im Fokus stehen, gemäß den theoretischen Prämissen und in Abkehr einer traditionellen Transfergeschichte, die Wechselwirkungen, die sich in den Amerikas entlang des Kokains entwickeln und nachzeichnen lassen.

Neben der aktiven Teilnahme ist die Bereitschaft, zur Vorbereitung der einzelnen Sitzungen englischsprachige Texte zu lesen, Voraussetzung für die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung.
