Dieses Seminar bietet eine Einführung in das Thema Migration aus einer soziologischen Perspektive. Insbesondere beleuchtet der Kurs den globalen und transnationalen Charakter von Migration. Wir werden uns mit verschiedenen Formen von Migration beschäftigen und diese im Zusammenhang mit aktuellen wirtschaftlichen, politischen und sozialen Entwicklungen betrachten. Darüber hinaus bietet das Seminar Einblicke in Migrationstheorien und analysiert die Bedeutung historischer Hintergründe für aktuelle Migrationsprozesse.

Studierende sollten Interesse am Thema Migration haben, Vorkenntnisse sind jedoch nicht erforderlich. Vorausgesetzt wird die Bereitschaft zur vorbereitenden Lektüre der angegebenen Texte und der aktiven Teilnahme an den Veranstaltungen.
