This seminar provides you with a discussion on qualitative methods from an ethnomethodological perspective. We will start with an exploration of the (somewhat complicated) relationship between ethnomethodology and sociology. After that the seminar will introduce to the main sociological methods: interviewing, observing, analyzing talk and texts. We will combine reading, discussion, and exercises. The participation in the seminar demands a weekly compulsory reading.

In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
