Nach einer umfangreichen Einführung in die spanische und argentinische Politik- und Sozialgeschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts sollen theoretische Modelle zur Analyse von autoritären politischen Systemen eingehend erörtert werden. Im empirischen Teil sollen Genese, Entwicklung und Zäsuren des spanischen Franquismus und des argentinischen Peronismus detailliert untersucht werden. Dabei sollen neben den phänotypischen Gemeinsamkeiten der beiden politischen Systeme auch die strukturellen Unterschiede deutlich herausgearbeitet werden. Im Schlußteil sollen auf der Basis einer fundierten Ergebnissynthese auch die Nachwirkungen von Franquismus und Peronismus auf das aktuelle spanische und argentinische politische System diskutiert werden.
