In diesem Seminar werden die Filme des österreichischen Regisseurs Michael Haneke analysiert (dazu gehören: Das Schloss, Funny Games, Die Klavierspielerin, Wolfzeit, Caché, Das weiße Band und Liebe). Der methodische Zugang ist nicht nur filmwissenschaftlich, denn es soll auch um grundlegende ästhetische Fragen gehen, wie beispielsweise die (Anti-)Ästhetisierung von Gewalt, die ästhetische Erziehung des Kinopublikums, Metafiktionalität und unzuverlässiges sowie fragmentarisches Erzählen.
Auch das Thema der Literaturverfilmung wird behandelt. Daher zur Vorbereitung bitte Franz Kafkas Das Schloss und Elfriede Jelineks Die Klavierspielerin lesen!
Als Studienleistung sind Analysen von Filmausschnitten und die Erörterung von Thesen aus der Forschungsliteratur vorgesehen.
