Dieses Seminar bietet eine Übersicht über die syntaktische Variation der Sprachen der Welt und eine Vertiefung in die Erforschung von nicht-indogermanischen Sprachen.
TEIL A: Syntaktische Variation
Im ersten Teil der Lehrveranstaltung werden: (a) die typologischen Möglichkeiten in der Struktur von Nominalphrasen, Verbalphrasen, Präpositionalphrasen, und einfacher Sätze eingeführt, (b) die syntaktischen Operationen, die in diesen Strukturen vorkommen, (c) die empirische Evidenz, die man in der Syntax benutzt, um zwischen alternativen Analysen zu entscheiden.TEIL B: Feldforschung in Bielefeld
Im zweiten Teil der Veranstaltung werden die TeilnehmerInnen die Möglichkeit haben, die Struktur von verschiedenen Westafrikanischen Sprachen (der Sprachfamilien Kwa, Gur, Kru und Mande) zu erforschen. MuttersprachlerInnen dieser Sprachen werden in der Lehrveranstaltung teilnehmen und mit den StudentInnen für die syntaktische Analyse zusammenarbeiten. Die Befragung/Feldforschung wird auf Englisch stattfinden.
