Contents, comment

William James (1842-1910), nordamerikanischer Philosoph des beginnenden 20. Jahrhunderts und Mitbegründer des Pragmatismus, hat viele Themen der Philosophie nachhaltig beeinflusst. Wir werden uns seiner Philosophie des Pragmatismus nähern, indem wir seine Ideen in ihrer Vielfalt und in ihrer historischen Genese betrachten (z.B. die Bedeutung des Individuums, Strom des Bewusstseins, der Wille zum Glauben, Pragmatismus, radikaler Empirismus, metaphysischer Pluralismus). Das Verstehen und Diskutieren wichtiger Originaltexte steht im Zentrum, v.a. auch, um übliche Missverständnisse bezüglich pragmatistischer Ideen zu vermeiden. Solche Missverständnisse haben v.a. auch die deutsche Rezeption der Philosophie von William James als bloße Nützlichkeitsphilosophie beeinträchtigt.

Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA-oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für:
Beitragsmappe: für jede Stunde muessen eine halbseitige Zusammenfassung der zu lesenden Originaltexte und zwei Fragen formuliert werden; eine Sitzung muss ausführlich protokolliert werden (3 Seiten).
