220054 Was sind, und auf welche Weise studiert man Ideologien in der Geschichte? (GST) (WiSe 2016/2017)

Der Ideologiebegriff hat lange ein schlechte Presse gehabt. Viele benutzen ihn lediglich als polemischen Begriff, um Standpunkte eines politischen Gegners abzuwerten. Aber ist “Ideologie” mehr als ein Kampfbegriff? Kann man “Ideologie” so definieren, dass ein sinnvolles Analysekonzept daraus wird? Und wenn, was unterscheidet “Ideologien” von Ideen, Begriffen, Diskursen? Ausgehend von neueren Diskussionen über Ideologietheorien im englischen Sprachraum wollen wir uns im Seminar zunächst einen systematischen Ideologiebegriff erarbeiten, der anschließend genutzt werden soll, um exemplarisch einige Ideologien in der neueren und neuesten Geschichte – ihre Entstehung, Verbreitung, Wirkung und ihr Verschwinden – näher zu untersuchen.
