300139 Grundzüge der Risikosoziologie (S) (WiSe 2016/2017)

Risiko tauchte als politischer Begriff erstmals in den 1960er Jahren auf und entfaltete eine ansehnliche Karriere, die vermutlich in der weitverbreiteten Beschreibung moderner Gesellschaften als ‚Risikogesellschaft’ bzw. "Weltrisikogesellschaft" kulminierte. Dieses Seminar zeichnet diese Entwicklung anhand zentraler soziologischer Texte nach. Beginnend mit der allgemeinen Frage nach Sicherheit und akzeptablen Risiken, werden prominente Risikotheorien und Aspekte der Verbreitung des Risikobegriffs in zahlreiche gesellschaftliche Bereiche diskutiert und in ihren Konsequenzen analysiert.
